Event Security

Beyond The Blue has the experience and knowledge to provide you with comprehensive event security and security planning, for whatever event or venue you are planning.

It may be that you are planning a major event and need a security plan, security staff and security managers to either execute the plan on your behalf or to do so in conjunction with your existing team. Whatever your needs Beyond The Blue has the insight and experience to help you achieve your goals.

Our event security planning can involve anywhere from 2 to 100 security guards and door supervisors. We carry out research into all events, in order to ensure that all potential issues are considered, such as providing special services like, close protection for VIP’s, pit staff for a live events etc.

For our bigger events we work closely with the clients from the early stages of the planning process. We ensure that the plan in place covers all the areas that will be affected by any activities undertaken as part of the event. We get involved in the build stage in order to advise on location of facilities, as well as structures such as marquees, bars, first aid tents, restricted areas, crowd barriers and fencing.

Once the basic structure of the event is in place, we create a streamlined and detailed plan for each individual security guard and door supervisor employed either by the client or by Beyond The Blue. These employees are then briefed prior to the event to ensure the transfer of information from the planning stages to the execution stages is smooth and comprehensive. We also brief individual teams working on different aspects of the event to ensure that they too are aware of all the relevant security information. This will include access routes, evacuation plans, restricted access levels, as well as basic information regarding the running of the event, communications lines and co-ordination between different teams and contractors.

Our event security team receive detailed plans from the event management team in specific areas such as the ticketing and door entry procedures. Different events have different requirements in this area and our security plan would stipulate subjects such as the advantages and disadvantages of advanced ticket sales or paying on entry, body & bag searches, re-entry procedures, identification of ticket holder in the form of wrist bands stamps etc. All our employees are experienced and have worked with various different entry procedures and understand the requirements of different events.

We place health & safety concerns at the heart of all our services and spend considerable time reviewing Emergency Evacuation Procedures so that all employees, supervisors and managers are fully aware of their roles, in the case of an evacuation being required. Extensive briefings are given and an event manager from Beyond The Blue normally leads and supervises any emergency evacuation if it is required. We also place great importance in fire safety measures and actively ensure that not only are our team reducing the risks through their actions, but that all other teams are being proactive.

Beyond The Blue can work exclusively with staff we source ourselves and have worked with on previous events or in conjunction with in-house or separately contracted security staff assigned based on their experience. We generally run events with a number of fixed positioned security staff that we rotate on a regular basis throughout the event for health and safety reasons and to remove a sense of boredom and encourage communication, a roaming security team and supervisors as well as a head of security. We would also place one event manager with specific security responsibilities in charge of the event, to oversee the co-ordination between the different groups. The roaming security team are employed to provide cover without the need to abandon a fixed location and leave the event vulnerable, they are required to assist wherever the crowd dynamics takes them. Our roaming security team members are some of our most experienced, who can deal with any aspect of the security of an event, that they may be called on to assist with. They are also generally the employees we use to provide close protection to artistes and VIP’s when required.

We believe strongly in the benefits of suitable delegation. At larger events we create a management structure so that each area has its own dedicated security supervisor to ensure that each area is pulling its weight and acting in a manner that is conducive to the overall success of the event. These supervisors are in turn co-ordinated by a head of security (for larger events we may also choose to have one or more deputy head of security) who oversee every aspect of the security team during an event.

Throughout the event we manage the security operation and if changes to pre-existing plans are required we facilitate this process through the established management structure.

We produce reports on incidents that take place during the event and provide copies of these to the client as well as holding them on file ourselves, for a period of seven years.
