Consultancy Service

The Security Industry

Whether you are setting up a new premises or restructuring an existing one, our consultants have the experience to advise you on all the options available, to ensure the safety of your workplace, employees and customers, through the implementation of a well defined security plan.

This plan will involve a number of different action points for you act on or that we at Beyond The Blue can implement on your behalf.

We will look at your existing systems and gauge their effectiveness before recommending improvements or changes. We understand that different clients have very different needs and address these through a combination of proactive, innovative and comprehensive action plans. These highlight the number of staff required and their locations, training requirements (both minimal legal requirements, as well as continued professional development), available technologies and their implementation and workplace specific systems.

Solutions we offer include looking at existing training with a view to implementing workplace specific training; we develop of Premises Specific Security Handbooks which support the training provided. These cover areas as wide ranging as radio communication (in conjunction with codes of alertness), fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures, entry and search procedures, first aid procedures, risk management as well as many others.

There are obvious benefits to premises specific security handbooks which support premises specific In-House Security Induction training (IHSI). As part of the consultancy process we evaluate your current systems and work with existing employees and managers to develop new systems which they feel comfortable with and can claim ownership of. We perform a Training Needs Analysis (pdf document) to evaluate the exact training requirements of your employees to allow them to fulfil their potential.

We specialise in the difficult and delicate decision of bringing contracted security staff, in-house. This obviously has wide ranging benefits from liability issues (see MD Blog - 'Nightclub owner liable for contract bouncer'), to cost benefits and the ability to develop your team to achieve higher standards reflecting more positively on the business as a whole.

Security planning is an important consideration when you are developing a new premises or event and is an integral part of the business planning stage of your project. Security demands should be a priority in any business plan as underestimating or ignoring the relevant security measures will put a dent in any budget.

Sometimes the cost of the planning stages can seem in themselves to be restrictive, but getting the level of security right and weighing this up against other considerations, such as the use of existing and new technologies, justifies the expense of the proactive planning very quickly. Even a small considerations such as having two too many door supervisors every night, can set your budget back in the region of £25,000-£50,000 in the first year; the other side of this is if you have two too few security staff the inefficiency and potential for increased levels of Workplace Violence can place a severe burden on a business.

We will put a security plan together for you with details of staff numbers, new technologies, equipment requirements and associated costs that will enable you to accurately plan your business and point it in the right direction for the future.

If you are planning an event, our consultancy service also includes;
