Organising Events
Event management is a very widely used phrase that can have wildly different meanings depending on who is using it and for what purpose. At Beyond The Blue we believe that event management is the planning and execution of any event that our clients may wish us to complete. We will organise all or part of your event on your behalf, following your guidance and using our experience and expertise.
We manage events both for our clients and alongside our clients. Sometimes we will act as sole event managers and sometimes we will have event managers from Beyond The Blue working alongside event managers from our clients own workforce. On the occasions when we share the role, we lay down specific areas of responsibility for all of the individuals involved and then decide with the client, if Beyond The Blue or the client's event manager will take the lead. It goes without saying that ultimately the final say lies with the client in the planning stages, but operationally on the night of an event, the authority is clearly delineated so that no confusion or debate affects the event.
When Beyond The Blue provides the event management our role is to co-ordinate the whole event for and on behalf of the client, following a specific schedule laid out during the planning stages. We ensure that all the individual areas are co-operating and acting in a manner conducive to productivity, efficiency and are using all the resources available to them to make the event successful. We will often achieve this by making our event manager specifically responsible for one area of the event. For example we may give our event manager specific responsibility for the Event Security. Then by placing suitably qualified deputies in place, they can take over as other areas demand the event managers attention throughout the event. The event manager co-ordinates the event overall through a team of event specialists covering each area. Giving our event managers a specific role to play, means that the focus of the whole event is more centralised and therefore more co-ordinated. This approach also allows us to empower more individuals and make the most of all the skills available to us; we believe strongly in the creation of a team and the delegation of responsibility to individuals, plays and integral role in our success.
