Introduction

The security industry in the UK takes many forms and each has a role to play in ensuring that citizens of the UK and visitors to the UK, can live and socialise in a safe and secure environment.

Beyond The Blue provides training and services to both the private sector and the public sector, to help them ensure that in their area of responsibility, by identifying risks and reducing them to a minimum, they can provide safe havens for their employees and customers.

We offer a variety of different courses and services to help you achieve this:

• National Certificate for Door Supervisors Courses (NCDS) - the industry standard qualification which enables successful candidates to apply for the SIA Door Supervisors Licence (Badge)
• In-House Security Induction Course (IHSI) - bespoke training specific to your premises, to allow your security team to meet the Security Industry Authority (SIA) recommendation for employees to receive further venue specific training in addition to the Door Supervisor Licence.
• Venue Specific Handbooks - specifically developed for your premises, give your employees a comprehensive point of reference. They also protect employers against under-performing employees and provide a defence of due diligence in the case of prosecution.
• Conflict Management & Resolution Courses (CMR) - training solutions for employees working in environments where they have contact with the public and are subject to any form of harassment, aggression or Violence in the Workplace. Courses are designed specifically for our clients working environment, to allow candidates to reduce risk, prevent conflict and resolve it before it turns to violence.
• Physical Intervention Training (PI) - teaching low-impact, easy to learn physical interventions techniques. These are suitable for use in those instances when conflict management and resolution skills are no longer effective. Our simple low-impact break-away and disengagement techniques allow individuals to remove themselves safely from the situation and seek assistance. Where required we also include skills designed to enable candidates to safely and professionally restrain, escort and remove aggressors, without the need to use of force or strength.
• Fire Safety Training (FS) - designed specifically to reflect your premises. Training covers both pre-emptive fire safety procedures, fire fighting equipment and emergency evacuation procedures. The training complements your Fire Risk Assessment, highlighting the responsibilities of each member of your team.
• First Aid Training (FA) - including; one day emergency First Aid courses for appointed persons, four day First Aid at Work courses and two day refresher courses.
• Consultancy Services - helps clients develop or review their business in the following areas: Security Industry; Event Security; Work Place Violence and Conflict Management; Fire Safety and Evacuation procedures.

The security industry is very diverse. Differences occur from premises to premises, based on factors including; location, the demographics of those they attract, the entertainment they provide, size, experience of employees and opening times.

At Beyond The Blue we never assume that any of our services can generically be transferred from one client to the next. We believe in developing strong relationships with our clients, so that as we learn and understand their business, we can continue to tailor our courses and services to be more relevant to their employees.

Our courses are designed specifically for each individual client. We always carry out a Training Needs Analysis (pdf document) before delivering the course for a new client. Through this research we develop an understanding of your business and are able to make courses more relevant to your employees.
